You fell into the exact same trap Latin American nations fell into during the same time period 60s, 70s, 80s. Interestingly enough, if your not utilizing farms, ranches, or wharfs after 1970 & attempting to focus on manufacturing while importing food, & not having enough MONEY. later on in the game I utilize national banks as a slush fund My Problem is that I always have too much money in State Coffers & not enough in my pocket. Landmarks - to appease factions as u noted (Mausoleum for Nationalists, Christ the redeemer for Religious), Why I use it for an increase in tourist ratings.Nuclear - I've gone for radioactive power when I'm desperate for space.Lumber - Correct not worth the eco damage.Sport complex, Zoo, Roller coaster - all add entertainment value.Tourist Attractions - increases Tourist rating bring more tourists of all kinds, more $$$.MANSION - I've had the money & made a few, but I prefer Modern Apt, condos.Wharf - also applied to above, food quality, increased restaurant service, employment, finished goods (Canned food).Farms & Ranches - employ the lower class, leading to less crime, less unemployment, & there's no need for import, can be utilized to finished goods (ie Rum, Canned food).I think you're a bit mixed up on the good attractions, see my guide here: Keep in mind that the radius of effect is quite small - 3 times the length of the building.īlimp/Baloon ride have very useful addons for the rest of your populationĮthnic Enclave (with no workers) opens up the Geographic Special Edict which is really good.
Tropico 4 pollution tv#
TV station on "learning with larry" is incredible to increase the efficiency of your industry or tourism. I've seen one in the midst of a housing block turning in over 100k a year! TV stations, properly placed, can be the most profitable buildings in the game. Mansions simply have very high housing quality - can't beat it - you shouldn't use housing to make money anyways

Landmarks/Beauty are very important for tourism ratings Nuclear Power is much cheaper than any alternative, and less pollution.

Sports Complex is just good for entertainment that won't create pollution/interfere with tourism Waterpark brings in a ton of money when set to 'daycare' because kids give double income It's easy to offset the 10 quality hit with some skilled maids. Plus, they make more efficient use of your maids. Pollution is a huge part of tourist ratings - alone it's worth as much as attractions. Motel: Motels are actually better than hotels and luxury hotels! This is because they don't create pollution, whereas hotels/luxury hotels do. Seems like a long list of structures I'm not using unless required to by a mission.įire Station: Use it with one fire man to increase housing quality Landmarks/Beauty (unless I'm trying to kiss-ass with the environmentalists or raise beauty points for tourism, which is pretty rare outside of mid-game).nuclear power plant (too expensive, I actually prefer power plants after US trade relations edict, and then wind turbines(or solar farms) since they don't require workers.lumber mill / logging camp (profit vs environment impact never worth it, compared to other industries).Sports Complex, Zoo, Roller Coaster, Water Park (takes up lots of real-estate, not as profitable as other structures).tv station (unless I'm going after tourism edicts, radio seems to be more than enough).balloon ride, blimp ride, ethnic enclave, souvenir shop (anything other than casinos, malls, luxury attractions, etc.).nuclear program (I like to keep foreign relations happy instead).motel (it seems preferable to skip motels and go right to hotels or luxury hotels).
